Tesco – Food collection

Help us support people facing hunger this winter by joining us for the UK's biggest food collection

From the 29th November to 1st December, Tesco are hosting the Food Collection in stores across the UK, in partnership with The Trussell Trust and FareShare.

In stores collecting for Trussell Trust foodbanks, the collection points are manned by volunteers who will hand out shopping lists of tinned and dried goods at stores to

encourage customers to buy an extra item of food or two during their shop. Customers can then kindly donate these items to their local foodbank on their way out of the store at a

food collection point.

These donations will be used to provide three-days of emergency food to people in crisis.

Foodbanks work with frontline professionals to identify people in need and issue them with a foodbank voucher. These include organisations such as children’s centres, housing

associations, welfare agencies and community mental health teams.

Following the collection, Tesco generously tops up the customer food donations gifting an extra 20% as a financial contribution to the foodbanks. Every donated item will not only

help provide vital food for people experiencing crisis, but gain additional top up funding that will help Trussell Trust foodbanks provide much needed further support.

We are thrilled that Tesco, the UK’s largest supermarket, shares our vision that no one should go hungry, and is working together with The Trussell Trust and FareShare to

empower local communities to fight poverty.

Will you join us to help stop UK hunger?
