We have had a collecting point in our local Asda store in Southport for some time now and it is well supported by customers,
However, a recent national partnership between the Trussell Trust, FareShare and Asda sees the involvement of the company increase by an order of magnitude.
Our permanent collection point will remain in the store but between the 12th and 26th May Asda will both publicise and encourage donations in the vast majority of their stores nationwide.
Additionally there will now be a financial top-up, paid by Asda to the Trussell Trust centrally, based on the weight of food donated so there will be both local and national benefits arising from this.
We are delighted with these developments and look forward to working with Asda to ensure its success.
