With our big collection at Tesco over, and the volunteers recovering, we ended the three days with a healthy total of 4251 kg.
This should enable us to provide approximately 3825 meals for local families in difficulties over the coming few months – with an additional 20% to come from Tesco themselves.
We could not have done this without the generosity of the shoppers at Tesco, Kew and the help of numerous individuals and organisations including the Tesco manager and staff, volunteers from Experian, BDO and the OPCS in Birkdale, the Southport 34th Brownies and, of course, our own regular volunteers who worked countless additional hours to ensure it was a success.
